Alix Deane

Rocks from my Mother is an exploration of grounding oneself through connecting to the maternal spirit that lies within oneself. I do so by counting, dropping, tossing, and interacting with rocks that were collected, one by one, by my mother. In one sense, I am connecting to my mother, and in another I am connecting to the land, and therefore, to myself.
